Desperation - A Love Story : Episode 2

Chapter 2: The Trip to Island

Max had his vacations and he had his predefined plans that he had to follow. So, he was packing up for a trip to south west on an island. It was a very beautiful island they were going. Jones also was coming with him as they always plan any vacation with each other. Jones was excited and was desperate to leave for his trip as soon as possible. Max on the other hand was still and was quietly packing his luggage. His desperation was only a true love and so the idea of vacation and trip never excited him, but he was going only for the sake of his friend. Yet he was very happy that his friend is happy and he knew that they are going to enjoy a very joyful time. They depart for their journey from their home in the late evening as their flight was at half past nine at night. It was eight and they were sitting at the airport waiting for the flight to start boarding. It was a difficult time for Max since he had seen a girl last night at the street and wanted to meet her if possible but these predefined plans stopped him from doing so. Finally they board for their flight and leave for their vacations. Max wasn’t able to sleep since every time he closes his eyes he saw the face of that girl. But finally he slept somehow.

Max had a quite drastic life. He being so popular for his friendly nature and cool temperament was quite desperate in reality. It was a mask of fake smile that he had wore to hide his desperation from others. Now you may surely ask, what was that desperation all about? The answer is that Max was a person with no friends in his life at a time. At that time he had met a girl once and she being so sweet to her that he fell in love with her. But that girl went far away to north and he was left all alone once again. But she had taught her a lesson to keep smiling and so he changed after that. Now he had more that hundreds of friends but even then he never forget about that sweet little friend of him. So, he finally decided to search for someone who resembles her in the way she thinks. And now when he was going to be an eligible bachelor within three months, his desperation to find such a girl increases dramatically.  Now when you know all this, his desperation must be justified to you.

After seven long hour’s flight they finally landed at the airport at the south west island. Jones was going mad yet it was not his behaviour. He was so excited that he was cracking nonsense jokes and was laughing like insane. Max finally was able to laugh a bit and started to enjoy his vacations. He almost forgot about his deep gloom and his desperation at that moment. They enjoyed the whole ride to their hotel looking at the beautiful natural scenery of the island. The island was very beautiful with long straight palm and coconut trees grown at the beach area. Since it was not a big island, they were able to catch the glimpse of the sea shore even from the highway. There was abundant natural beauty far from the pollution and noise of city they lived. The beautiful beach, the silent woods and moreover there was also many small hills and natural waterfalls. In short it was a very beautiful island and was a perfect vacation spot for anyone. It was a small packet with loads of goodies in it. You can come here to simply enjoy the beach, or for some adventurous camping in the woods, or some hiking on the hills, or you can also enjoy white water rafting near the beautiful waterfalls.

Finally, they reach the hotel. It was not some modern type of hotel; in fact it was an old style hotel with the whole hotel building made up of woods and logs. It was very beautiful hotel with very antique looks. It was very well decorated with beautiful and very bright lights. The rooms were not any less than any expensive suite. They reached there and finally after arranging their luggage they took rest for a while.

Most of the tourism happens to be there at this time of the year, so, the hotels arrange many ball room dance parties and dinner at their own level. Hotel Grande Bishop also had arranged a ball room dance party and dinner for their guests in the hotel. All the guests of hotel were invited, so, Max and Jones also decided to join that dance party, after all it was free.

Alison was also having her vacations at that time. She was also a university student at the south eve university. She was very excited this time since she had got permission from her home to enjoy this vacation as she wanted. So, she called her three best friends Annie, Linda and Sonny, and planned a vacation at south west island. They leaved the hostel to catch their flight and after a three hour’s journey they reached there. They also had booked a room at the same hotel, hotel Grande Bishop. In fact, they had their room booked in front of Max’s room. But, since they didn’t know each other, they had nothing to do with it. In the evening, Max and Jones reached the ball room for the party. Alison also came there with her friends. The dance started and everyone started dancing with their partners. Max and Jones were standing in a corner looking at the beautiful couples dancing. Max’s so known desperation started to fill him with gloom. He wanted to talk to someone, so, he finally told Jones about the matter.

“Jones, I never told you a thing that I never told anyone. It’s a dark secret of mine I never shared”, told Max. “What’s that all about? You never sound so grieved”, asked Jones. “Well, let me tell you a story of mine......... it was long time back about ten years from now. I was eleven at that time. I wasn’t the same like now; in fact, I was a dumb guy at that time. I wasn’t very friendly even. One day at school, I was playing alone when some bully kind of guys came there and started to fight with me. I wasn’t a fighter so I started crying and ran out of there. Mia, a girl at my school had seen all that happening to me. She came near me and told me, “You are a sensible guy that you didn’t fought, but you lack confident. Don’t cry, always smile”. That girl then became my best friend. We always played together. She was very sweet and cute and moreover she always smiled. Even if she fell off and got wounded, she never cried. She filled me with a new energy. In fact, she changed me completely. Finally, I fell in love with her. I wanted to tell her, but then her father got promotion, and with that, a transfer to somewhere far away to north. I didn’t ever happened to knew where she gone. I cannot find her now, but I decided that I will search someone who resembles her in qualities. The way she thinks. It’s very difficult and is the reason for my desperation”, Max disclosed the biggest secret of his life to Jones.
