Desperation - A Love Story : Final Episode

Chapter 5: Conclusion

It was just the beginning of the dawn and the sun was peeping through the horizon. Jones was just awaked. He was looking at the sky when he suddenly listened to a sound. It was a ship passing by. He suddenly stood up and took a look. He saw a ship ascending toward them. He awaked all of them and told them about it. “Max, Alison, Sonny, Linda, Annie, all of you wake up have a look at this”, he said. “What happened now, Jones, are you kidding again?” asked Max. “No no, just take a look, a ship’s ascending toward us”, told Jones.

They all suddenly woke up and started to look down toward the ship. Alison asked, “It’s so far away, how will we reach there”? “Well, there’s one way, but...” said Max. “But What”? “It’s difficult”. “You bet we will surely try”. “Well, have you listened about white water rafting”? “WHITE WATER RAFTING! Max, are you insane”? “I told you, it’s difficult”. “Okay, we will do it”. “You are out of your mind Alison”. “Not at all, I just trust him”.

Finally, they decided to do white water rafting. They forged a raft using wooden logs and finally packed up their luggage to raft down the stream. They were very excited and a bit scared also, but finally, they jumped into the stream and rode into the raft. It was very fast downfall but they managed to uphold themselves together. Finally, after a very adventurous ride they reached down near the sea shore. The path that would have taken hours of time to reach was completed in 15 minutes. It was a very dangerous but joyous ride for them. They reached near the shore and started to think over some idea to let the captain of ship know that they are here. Finally, Sonny took out her small mirror from her purse and started to make lustrous pattern with it in the sunlight. The sailor at the ship saw that luster and reported about it to captain. Captain ordered him to take the ship toward them. Finally, they were rescued by that ship.

It was a cargo ship and it was going to West Coast Harbour. Alison was from the same town where the ship was going so, she said, “We can get back to our home from there”. Finally, they all reached there. Alison and her friends moved with her while Max and Jones moved toward the airport. They board a flight to their home and finally reached their home.

Five days later, Max was working on his assignment and it was getting too late, so, he decided to get back to sleep. When he slept, he saw a dream. In his dream Mia came to her, the same 10 years old Mia, with her came Alison holding their hands. Mia said, “Max, you always wanted a girl who thinks like me, this is Alison, and it is your destiny. It is the one for which you were desperate all these years. Please don’t let her go”. With these words she disappeared. Now the only girl standing in front of her was Alison. He said, “Alison, I………” suddenly his alarm started to ring. He woke up. It was 5 O’ Clock and he had to complete his assignment. He got up and started his work. Suddenly, his phone rang. “Hey, it’s Jones here. What’s up dude? Have you completed the assignment?” “Hey Jones no, I am just awake and am completing it now. See you at the collage”. Then he finished his work and went to college. In the evening, he met Jones and told him his dream. Jones started to laugh out loud. Then he said, “Max, I had told you about it before but, then you weren’t accepting it. Well better late than never. Now what’s your plan”? Max said, “We will go to his home this weekend”. “But, we don’t know where she lives. How will we search her”? “I have an idea, just get ready”.

They decided to go to West Coast Town that weekend. They reached there. Max took out a little map and started to search something. “What are you searching in this map now”? “Alison once told me that she lived near the Giant Street Library and that she goes there daily. So, we will be going there and wait for her to come”. They moved toward the giant Street Library and after getting some directions from the local peoples, they finally reach there. Max was feeling his desperation again building up in him. They waited there all day long but she didn’t come. They stayed in a hotel near that library. They went to the library daily and waited for her all day long but she never came. Finally, they ask the librarian of that library and after some investigation they found that there’s one more branch of that library at West Eve University. They went there. Max was very much excited. His desperation had increased dramatically. Finally, Alison came there. As he got the first glimpse of her face, his heart started pounding very heavily. His desperation was at his peak. He called her. “Alison, I……… I……….. I want to say something to you”. “Max, you surprised me. Wow you are here. I was thinking about you just a while”. “Alison, I love you”. These were his next word to Alison. “I always denied, but now I believe, you are the only one for me. I believe you”. Alison was smiling at him. She had no words to say. She was getting emotional at that time. She said, “I was waiting for this day to come from the day I first overheard the conversation of you and Jones at the ball room dance party. Finally, it’s over. My wait is over. I love you too Max”. This was the last day of Max’s desperation. His desperation had come to an end. Now he was with his right one. That whole moment was so emotional that university students who were present there, started clapping and cheering them.

Jones was standing far away and was looking at his friend finally finding his true destiny. He was getting very emotional at that moment. Tears came out of his eyes, he wiped them off and said to himself, “Truly, destiny is never searched by us, but it searches us”.
