Hi Friends! This is the fourth part of my story. As You had read that a cyclonic storm is ascending towards the island, now the story has a very sharp twist. Read this episode. I hope that you will enjoy this twist.
Chapter 4: LAILA- A Cyclonic Storm
Storm was
ascending toward the island. Everyone was packing up and going back to their
home but, Max, Alison, Jones, Annie, Linda and Sonny were unaware of this news
and they were hiking on the nearby hills. When they reach back to hotel they
saw the commotion created there due to the storm. They uphold themselves and
then asked the management what happened. The manager asked, “What are you doing
here, didn’t you heard the news of Laila storm ascending toward the island”.
“Laila, What are you talking manager? We didn’t get any news about any storm.
Now what do we need to do? How will we escape from here”, Max became nervous.
“Sir, there’s no way to escape now. We don’t even know what is the strength of
storm? Our hotel is made up of wood, so it is not safe to stay here. We regret
you now but there’s no way out”, said the manager.
They were shocked.
It seems as if there life had cheated them. They were helpless. Max started to
cry but not for him. He was crying for the others. Alison upholds herself and
said to Max, “Max, you have to be confident. Be strong. Nothing wrong will
happen. It’s just a storm, we can handle it”, she started to sob, but then she
controlled her emotion and said, “Remember, never cry and always smile”. These
words suddenly stroked his mind, he suddenly reminisced the words by Mia. The
face of Mia came in front of his eyes and now he was able to see that Alison
resembles Mia in the way of thinking. He suddenly took her hands and said, “I
believe you”. Then he rose up and stood straight. Then he said, “Storm’s
ascending towards us, we have very less time”.
They started to
pack up their luggage and some important stuff that they found useful and were
ready to evade when suddenly very horrible sound of storm came. They were
extremely frightened by that sound. They came out of hotel and started to run
towards the upper hills. Very fast winds with 120Km/hr were sweeping the island
everywhere and it was very difficult for them to hike ahead towards the top of
the hills but somehow, they managed to reach there. Wind was very strong and it
was certain that it will rain heavily within an hour. Max planned to move
inside the forest which was spread all over the hills. They entered the forest
and started to search for some safe place. They were searching for more than an
hour and it started to rain heavily. Finally, they found a cave like structure
and took shelter inside it and waited for the rain to stop but, the storm
seemed to be there forever. It started to get more horrible. They were sitting
there inside that cave and were discussing their next plan. They ignited a
bonfire in between because cold was started to increase outside. Max said, “We
will not be able to make it unless the storm subsides”. Jones said, “We have
two paths, first is that we should wait here for storm to pass away, or, second
is that we move ahead and search our destination and the second is more
adventurous”. “How many of you likes adventure”, he asked. Annie said, “Jones,
we are here to save our lives and you are talking about adventure. You are
stupid”. Sonny said, “Jones, you probably are out of your mind that you are
speaking so insanely” but, Alison said, “It’s a nice idea. We should at least
try it. Tell us, what we have to do”. Max was listening to everything but he
didn’t spoke. He was lost in his thoughts. He wasn’t able to react at the
moment because he was thinking of Mia and Alison. He wasn’t able to agree that
Alison resembles Mia. Suddenly he said, “Alison, you know Mia”? Alison was
shocked by his words but she tried to control her and said, “Max, we are
stranded here in this storm and you are talking about Mia. By the way, who is
she? I don’t know”. Max said, “Mia is someone I believe in. She is my inspiration,
and I saw a glimpse of Mia in you, so I asked”. “Max, it’s nice but it’s not
the right time to talk about these things. You have to overcome your
desperation and think over getting us out of this place for now”, said Alison.
“And Max, you have about four months more before you get 21, so, control your
emotions for now”, added Jones. “Ok, I will”, said Max.
It was raining
very badly and there was nowhere any symptoms that storm will subside soon.
They were also out of food and water, so, they decided to move ahead and search
for food and water and also a way to escape. They waited that night there at
cave and in the morning they started their journey to escape. Rain and winds
had subsided but everything was destroyed there. They looked for some path and
finally decided to move toward the waterfall side. They started their journey.
They were moving with small steps and were looking for some plants that could
be eaten. Finally, they reached near a waterfall. That was a very beautiful
place which was perfect in all aspects. They found many eatable fruits and
fresh water from the fall that was potable. The scenery of sea side was looking
so beautiful from that place that they forgot their weariness. They then
decided to stay there and wait for some time. “Max, this is perfect place to
live. I can live here forever”, said Jones. “It is, but we have to get back
also”, answered Max. “Yes, you are right”, added Alison.
They all were very
tired since they hadn’t slept last night, so, they slept there for 5 hours.
When they woke up, it was evening and sun was setting and the horizon was
having red gradient over it. It was very beautiful scenery. They clicked many
photographs there. That was the time when they had almost forgotten that they
have to escape. That was a very beautiful moment of their life.
It was almost the
dusk and they had to arrange for their shelter. So, they started setting up a
tent that they had carried with them while leaving the hotel. Then they setup
some bonfire and arranged some food, they caught some fishes from the small
pond that was formed near the waterfall and cooked it over bonfire. They
enjoyed that night as campers. They sang and danced and enjoyed the delicious
camp food. Then finally they slept.
